Notice of Public Hearing Regarding Proposed FY 2025 Budget

The Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC) has rescheduled a public hearing to present its proposed FY 2025 budget and invite public review/comment. Currently, the total cost of the proposed budget is $84 million, including $70 million in operating expenses and $14 million in capital expenses. The PRTC budget will be finalized after Prince William County approves its budget, but the PRTC budget should not exceed these amounts. Details of PRTC’s proposed budget will be posted at OmniRide.com prior to the public hearing. 

PRTC is the federal grant applicant for federally participating projects that PRTC, Virginia Railway Express (VRE), and Fredericksburg Regional Transit (FXBGO!, formerly FRED), envision applying for in FY 2025. Public comment is invited on all those projects as proposed.

 The FY 2025 budget public hearing will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 6:00 PM at the OmniRide Transit Center, 14700 Potomac Mills Road, Woodbridge, VA 22192. The previously advertised April 24, 2024 budget public hearing is cancelled. 

Materials detailing the proposed budget and federally participating PRTC, VRE and FXBGO! projects will be available at OmniRide.com prior to the public hearings. Comments may be made during the public hearing or may be submitted no later than Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 5:00 PM via email to publichearing@omniride.com, or in writing to:
